1922 - 1923
Wembley Stadium, London

The stadium was completed in twelve months in time for the 1923 Football Association Cup Final. To complete this vast undertaking in so short a time necessitated the employment on the site at the peak period of around 3,000 men. The stadium, which was capable of accommodating 125,000 spectators, was built entirely in concrete. Wembley’s outer wall stretched half a mile and included 37 massive arches and its famous twin towers stood nearly 50m high.
