The British Expeditionary Forces
The company made an enormous contribution to the support of ‘Kitchener’s Army’ during the Great War. Work included the construction of hutted camps and support buildings throughout France, frequently close to the front lines. Similar camps were built throughout Britain. The photograph shows part of the hospital built at Etaples.
