1933 - 1936

Mogden Sewage Disposal Works

When completed, this 70 acre works was one of the largest of its kind in the world. The project required 153,000m3 of concrete works and involved construction of all but the stormwater tanks. Some 30 miles of tunnels were also built, 24 miles of which were constructed using the McAlpine patented system of pre-cast reinforced tunnel lining.
