The Dorchester Hotel, London

A landmark in innovative construction technology, The Dorchester quickly established a reputation as the epitome of hotel excellence under the direction of the McAlpine family. During construction the company introduced the use of a tower crane, believed to be the first used in Europe. The “Monotower”, as it was called, went on to provide valuable service to the company into the 1970s.
