Arsenal Football Club’s new Emirates Stadium was completed in time for the start of the 2006 football season. Built on a 7 hectare site in Islington, the stadium stands on a raised podium and is 41m high from ground level to its highest point. At the project’s peak 1,000 construction workers were working on the stadium which is capable of holding 60,000 spectators and includes 33,000m of concrete terracing and 150 executive boxes.
