PARTNERSHIP APPROACH WINS RECOGNITION

June 18, 2012

The M74 Completion project was named winner of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation Effective Partnerships Award 2012.

The largest transport project completed in Scotland for a generation, the 8km stretch of motorway south of Glasgow opened to traffic in June last year, eight months ahead of schedule.

The company worked on the project as a member of Interlink M74, a joint venture with Morgan Sindall, Balfour Beatty and Morrison Construction.

The judging panel said the project “stood out because of its scale, importance and the way the clients and providers worked together to deliver such a complex, and at times, controversial project in an exemplary fashion”. The judges also noted that: “The project delivered benefits for the wider community and local employment for the area.”

The CIHT Awards are designed to reward the achievements of those working in the highways and transportation sector and to promote their professionalism and best practice to a wider industry audience.
