The six-storey car park was built alongside a live railway and an operational airport.
Serving passengers at the busy commuter hub of Southampton Parkway Station, this split level car park provides 575 spaces over six storeys.
The project also included remodelling of the station forecourt as well as landscaping, junction and highways works.
In addition to operating within the restrictions inherent in working alongside live air and rail environments, the project also involved complying with Network Rail’s stringent regulations.
The car park features energy efficiency lighting and incorporates heated ramps on the upper levels to minimise the build up of ice in winter.
With the existing car park remaining operational throughout the project, close coordination was required with Network Rail and train operator South West Trains as our site boundary requirements changed to encompass different areas of work.
